Good morning guys, it’s been awhile since my last post. It’s just that between work, personal life, domains and projects, there is very little time left for blogging.   I’ve been working on a number of different ideas.

Article/Content Sites - I created a few content sites simply because I had the domain and got some content and wanted to try that approach of just having pure unique content/article sites. I haven’t been a big fan of just building article sites, so this is something new I’m trying. I’ll let you know how it goes after I start getting some stats for these sites.

DigitsOfPi.com – it’s funny, I hand registered this domain using TopDrops.com and only because it had around 5k exact match searches. Many disagreed with me and I, myself thought that it’s not that great of a domain. I was just testing.  I quickly built a site on it that enables to get digits of pi. The site has been getting a lot of traffic and even started becoming popular with students or pi community as they can easily get the exact digits of pi they want. I’m really happy how it turned out.

Domainer Tool – I’ve started looking into building this long due domainer tool that will be a desktop application and enable domainers to do all kinds of searches/filters right from their desktop.  Of course, it’s going to be much more than that, it’ll include portfolio management and other great features.  I’m curious to see how many would be interested in a tool like that?

Affiliate income – recently, I’ve met a few people who make a killing with affiliate income.  Unfortunately, it’s such a competitive market that no one is willing to disclose the details, which is understandable.  However, I need to get into it somehow as I have several sites that do get a decent amount of traffic but aren’t so great for adsense income. One of those sites is Top10Places.com that I own. I think it would be a great if I can tie that site with some kind of lead gen / affiliate company. I’ve been researching for a long time and finally the other day I found a site that you can use to find affiliate companies. Read my next post, I’ll tell you all about it.

Flippa – well, I had a listing on flippa, you can see my prior posts on it. My first listing sold but I ended up with a non-paying bidder. Great, so I had to relist again. The good news is that my relisted action sold for more than the original one. But I’m still waiting to hear from the buyer on that too. I do think that Flippa is a great system, but they have to change their model. Why don’t they charge people as soon as they win an action? I understand if it’s a high price sale, then you mind need to take another route, but for actions ending under 5k, they should automatically charge the bidder.  Otherwise, it’s wasting everyone’s time. Domain action houses do that, they charge your credit card as soon as you win an action, I don’t see why Flippa can’t do it too.

Startup – yes and yes, I’m still into startups. I still think that the timing is great for any kind of startup. But what you have to have is the right team. Many say that angel/VC investments are down, I think it’s the opposite. We have more angel investors than ever before. Anyone with a little bit of money is starting to get into investing into startups. So if you have a great team, there is no reason why you can’t create a multi-million dollar startup. Note, I say great team, not great idea. The way I see it is that ideas come and go, what counts is the team. If you have a great team, you can take the worst idea and still be successful.  The first thing investors look at is the team and that’s becoming a must have.

Have a great day :)
