I just got an email from Google notifying me that they’re retiring their AdSense For Domains product. This is a very unfortunate change for me as I really liked Adsense for domains and was using it as my primary domain parking platform.
Recently, there were a number of new parking companies launched and I always questioned, “How can they compete with Google?” I even asked the question to one of the representatives from a parking company. He said I was right, it’s hard to compete with payouts that Google was giving on their Adsense for Domains parking system. I had moved almost all of my domains to Google’s domain parking system and was pretty happy with it.
It’s very unfortunate to see it go. Google didn’t really provide any reason for their move, but I’m guessing we all know the reason. I’m pretty sure that the reason is that their partner parking companies complained that Adsense for Domains was killing their business.
So I have less than a couple of months to choose a new parking company and move my domains over. I don’t have a lot of domains parked, I think it’s around 150, but still, I need to pick another parking company.
If you have domains parked at Adsense, don’t forget to move them. The deadline is April 21th, after that you won’t earn any money on domains parked at adsense.
Here are some dates from the email:
March 21: You’ll no longer be able to create new Hosted domains
April 18: Hosted domains will become inactive and it’ll no longer be possible to earn from them
June 27: Hosted domains will no longer be available in AdSense accounts
